What's Up Doc?

Hi Minh!

You made it right on time today. Did you set an alarm clock? Speed through traffic?

Very funny, doc. I have to transfer buses to get here. The first bus is always late, which makes me miss the second bus!

So, how have you been feeling? Anything specific you want to talk about before I get started?

It sounds like a great benefit!

This time I used a no-cost transportation service from my health plan.

Well, my neighbor, Ricardo, is going through treatment for lung cancer. He told me that they were able to treat it because they caught it early.

I’ve never had a lung cancer screening before. I figured it would be complicated and expensive.

I see. Lung cancer can be tricky, but the earlier we catch something, the better chance of treatment. Have you had any symptoms or concerns yourself?

I stopped smoking when my son was born, just over 10 years ago. But I’m still worried—Ricardo  didn’t even show any symptoms!

Since you’re healthy, we can start with a low-dose CT scan. It is one of the best tools we have for detecting lung cancer early.

If we find lung cancer while it’s still small, before it spreads, the chances of a successful treatment are higher.

You’ll be asked to hold your breath for a few seconds while the machine takes pictures of your lungs, and that’s it. This might be covered by your plan and at no-cost to you.

It is quick, painless, and safe!

Heading 3

You know me… I barely have enough time for this visit! I have to look away when I even get shots! And this must cost a fortune!

>whistles<

We don’t have a CT scanner here, but we can find an imaging site. It’s important to get there early so you can fill out any paperwork.

Ok, ok...you’ve convinced me I can handle it, doc. Can we do it right now?

Thanks doc!

Don’t worry, we can find a location that is close to your house. Let’s get you scheduled for the screening!

Even if you’re busy...

Even if you’re nervous...

Even if you feel healthy...
