Hey, Minh! Good to see you! I hope you’re not still mad that I beat you at tennis, ahem, three times.
I’ve been looking forward to the block party for a while, it’s nice to have all the neighbors get together.
I want a rematch soon!
Hi Luisa! Wow, this spread looks great! I don’t see Ricardo’s famous pulled pork tacos though…
Agreed—it always has the best food.
Those are my favorite! I haven’t seen Ricardo in a while either. Where has he been lately?
I’m waiting for him to text me! He’s still at his appointment. He’s getting treated for lung cancer.
Lung cancer? I didn’t even know he was sick!
Now that you mention it, he didn’t show up for game night the last few weeks.
There weren’t any symptoms, but they caught it during his lung cancer screening. Luckily it’s still in an early stage so he can get treatment.
They caught it during a screening? Don't you have to feel sick before even thinking about getting something like that?
I felt the same way when I got screened a few years ago. I was stressed out before it, but it was quick, and it didn’t cost anything.
I thought so too. But really, Ricardo said it was not complicated. Just a chest scan and bloodwork-nothing invasive. Early detection…it really is a game changer.
I don’t think I could jump into something like that. It feels a little unnecessary, doesn’t it?
I get it, but it’s better to be safe. I got it because my doctor recommended it.
My dad had lung cancer and died before I graduated. I want to be there for my kids for as long as I can.
I’m thankful Ricardo got screened when he did. If he had waited too long, the cancer could have spread and become harder to treat.
If this can happen to Ricardo, I should think about getting the lung screening too.
Absolutely. I’ll take you up on that tennis rematch once you’re done.
You’re on!
Talk to your doctor about lung cancer screening.
